I am a writer, editor and literary translator living in Hillsborough, NC.
I write short stories and essays, and am curious about people, their histories, and the ways they experience life. My translations from Spanish have appeared in The Sewanee Review and Surreal Poetics, and I’m the author of the blog Breaking Up With New York (2010-2017). I am passionate about finding and translating great fiction by contemporary Hispanic women. You can find out more about me and my work at dorothypotter.com and dorothypotterspanish.com.
I believe good stories change the world.
